Prototyping
Our focus on creative solutions encourages us to work on real-world solutions qualified through our prototype processes. We follow a rigorous design intent methodology that includes:
Design Intent Methodology
- Based on system requirements and customer input,a preliminary design is developed using 3D CAD software
- This design is turned into a computer-generated model, which is used to analytically verify fit and required clearance
- This design model then receives computer mathematical analysis using additional computer software
- If required, a full sized hard example of the design is produced utilizing stereo lithography, which can be used for further design evaluation
- The stereo lithography part may also be used as a basis for a part-casting model to produce the first samples made with design intent material of the part
- Design intent prototype samples are then cast-forged, machined, assembled and verified using in-house equipment
- The prototype manufacturing process also provides input for developing the high volume production methodology
- These prototypes are then used to verify that the part meets design intent by being incorporated in higher-level evaluations, such as vehicle testing.
